“Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” ― Mary Oliver
Sending thoughts and prayers to the entire east coast affected by the super storm Sandy. Especially thinking of New Jersey as we have family there and are so relieved they are safe, though without electricity and undoubtedly dealing with the chaos this storm has dealt the region.
Sadly, we were planning to visit next weekend to see my brother-in-law, his wife, and their two kids, one of whom is a new baby. I’m not sure if this will actually happen now, but obviously, a minor inconvenience considering all that is happening.
If we do make it, we will spend two days in Manhattan and two days in New Jersey, as our oldest, turning seven next month, is truly a big city lover and we were looking forward to showing her one of the biggest and best!
We’ll be watching closely to see how the cities recover and what the travel situation is like. In the meantime, we will continue to support organizations like the Red Cross whose staff and volunteers are always amazingly there alongside the public servants and first responders when devastating events occur.
