“Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” ― Mary Oliver
We arrived in Palm Springs yesterday morning….after a VERY early departure from MSP. Last week was crazy hectic work-wise and otherwise, so I’m grateful to get away. However, it did take a whole day to actually decompress and get into vacation mode. Worrying about how my dear husby’s doing with the girls, answering a few more work emails, etc.
Our breakfast at Cheeky’s went a long way toward alleviating stress and getting into a chill mode. The place was a-mazing! We ate breakfast alfresco, with views like this:
And had the tastiest cheddar waffles with jalepeno bacon topping & agave serrano pepper syrup! Not to mention a spicy Bloody Mary in a little boot – it had so many garnishes that it teetered on the edge between beverage and salad, just the way I like it.
After our meal, we walked the main street peeking into some of the hip furniture shops carrying lots of mid-century collectibles as well as a few galleries.
Then it was time to hit the hotel spa, where I got a great body scrub, seaweed wrap, and pedicure….AHHHH.
Sat poolside while my tootsies dried.
Finished the night with dinner at Purple Palms @ the Colony Palms Hotel…the vibe was beautiful, moody, vintage.
I had a great beet and citrus salad, followed by a yummy bouillabaise. Great way to end the evening, and to start the trip!
